Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all wedding ceremonies/receptions I was hired to perform at from March through July 2020 were postponed or cancelled.  That is why there are only a few references listed below for 2020.

Mike was fantastic to work with!  I was surprised with how many details I would not have thought of if it was not for him.  Mike was very organized and actually helped plan several parts of our evening, which was a huge bonus.  He was always very responsive, answered all our questions, and took great care of us during our wedding reception.  He even had the awareness of an important aspect of our reception that had nothing to do with him.  He took the initiative to ask me if he should make an announcement to our guests in hopes it would help us out.  I was floored that he even noticed and was so grateful for the extra attention to details, our details.

 

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Mike and would work with him again in a heartbeat!  His rate is very reasonable, especially compared to the other DJs I looked up.  Mike is worth every penny and much more!

"Mike Miller performed at our vow-renewal ceremony and reception and was fantastic!  From the very detailed wedding planner we filled out with schedule, likes, dislikes, wants, and needs, to the quality of sound at both the ceremony (which was outdoors and windy and rainy - no problem for Mike), to the music choices at the reception, everything went perfectly.  Mike spent a lot of time with my us prior to to our wedding day on the phone and communicating by email to make sure everything was perfect, and it showed!  We couldn't have asked for a better DJ and coordinator for our big day.  On top of everything, Mike helped us immensely by fitting us in his schedule on very short notice - only a month before our wedding day!  Yet again, no problem for Mike.  We couldn't recommend Mike highly enough for any ceremony or event!

We opted for a fun game to play during dinner, when everyone would be clinking their glasses, that involved calling out couples' names.  Not only did Mike request a list of those couples' names ahead of time (in case we forgot to bring the list - considering the bride and groom have enough on their plate that day), he took the time and dedicated himself to learning the names and the pronunciations.  This was also something numerous people complimented on as we had many guests with unique names.

When it came to choosing Mike Miller for our DJ service, we loved his personality from day one.  He was very thorough with keeping in touch, and he most definitely provided the spunk to our reception.  Mike was very easy to work with and went with the flow of whatever we were thinking and gave us his input from previous experiences.  In a profession where people could charge an arm and a leg, Mike provides exquisite service for an extremely reasonable price.  We can guarantee you one thing, if you choose Mike, you will never regret the decision - we absolutely loved him!

"My wife and I were extremely pleased with Mike's performance for our wedding reception.  Mike was accommodating, timely, professional, and receptive to all of our requests.  We had a broad range of music on our 'do not play list' (not family friendly).  Mike may sure to get approval from my wife or I on any guest's requests that were 'borderline'.

Our wedding song was from some no-name undiscovered artists - something not in Mike's extensive music library.  He was able to find the song.  We had some non-mainstream Latin American music on our play list.  Mike was able to accommodate that as well.  The dance floor was full the entire night.

You are not getting some hired kid who is trying to make an extra buck being a DJ.  You are getting the company owner who clearly loves what he does and is very good at it.  He has great equipment.  Don't shy away because of his reasonable pricing - you are getting a professional who is worth at least twice what you are paying.

I was asked by several vendors from our wedding for reviews, but I don't write reviews for expected or satisfactory service.  Mike exceeded our expectations.  I would highly recommend him for your event.

"Mike Miller did a fantastic job as our wedding DJ.  Throughout the whole process, including months leading up to the event, Mike always responded to emails in a timely, friendly, and professional manner, and he was very thorough in ensuring we were all on the same page with our planning to make sure things went smoothly.  We had a lengthy list of songs that we were thinking of incorporating, and Mike went above and beyond, providing very thoughtful and helpful feedback to help us refine the list.

At the reception Mike was low-key, but contagiously enthusiastic.  As we requested, he didn't talk too much between songs or draw attention to himself like some DJs tend to do.  Additionally, I'm thrilled to say he didn't set up any banners to advertise his service like some DJs do, so we won't have to see any of that cheesy stuff in the background of our wedding photos for years to come.

His sound and lighting setup was modest and compact, but fully effective for our sizable wedding, and the sound level was perfect all night - good background level for cocktail hour and dinner, and lively during the dance, but not too loud to overpower people's conversations in the dancing area.

And as icing on the cake, Mike charges much less than any of the other numerous DJs we looked into.  Considering the high quality of the service, his price seems too good to be true, but we assure you that it is not!

"Mike Miller was the DJ for our outdoor wedding reception, and we could not have been happier with his service!  Mike had great communication with us through email from day one.  His wedding planner was also very helpful as we were not sure where to start.  After filling out the wedding planner and talking with Mike, we were able to figure out who would do what and when.  We had a great plan in place for the night.  We had so many compliments from our friends and family that Mike was an awesome DJ!  He played the music we wanted and made sure that we approved any song requests that we hadn't listed on our wedding planner.  Mike also helped us with our buffet line by dismissing each table so the line didn't get backed up.  We really appreciated that!  Mike seemed to have as much fun as a DJ as everyone did dancing.  We are so glad we picked Mike and recommend him to anyone looking for a great DJ.

From the first e-mail to the wedding planner to the last dance, Mike was professional and very prompt and on top of everything.  He called several weeks in advance to make sure that everyone's name would be pronounced perfectly and that he had everything exactly the way that we wanted it to run.  
 
The thing that really made me happy was what Mike did was with the introductions into the reception.  My husband and I picked the intro to the Chicago Bulls as our song to walk in to the reception.  I remember thinking to myself that it would have been cool to have him sound like the announcers at the actual games.  When the music and the introductions started, it was like Mike had read my mind - he actually sounded like the announcer at the United Center.  I was so excited that he did that, it sounded great, and I could tell that he had been practicing it for weeks.
 
I recommend Mike to EVERYONE who needs a DJ for ANYTHING.  His price is very reasonable, and definitely puts on a great show with music for everyone to enjoy.  I have been to many other weddings where the DJ was ok, but you can be guaranteed that Mike will give you a GREAT time that you and your guests will remember for the rest of your lives.

“When we were searching for DJs, we did an Internet search.  Then we called around and talked to a lot of DJs, but all of them charged outrageous prices that we couldn't afford.  Then I finally got a hold of you, and when I told you of our financial situation, you were willing to work with us.  That helped us tremendously.  Thanks a lot. 

 

You always kept in contact with us throughout the entire process.  The wedding planner helped us a lot.  And the songs that we didn't want to hear at our reception, we didn't hear it at all.  Any other requested songs that you weren't sure whether we would want played, you asked us.  Any other wedding that I've been to, the DJ hasn't asked the bride or groom and just played songs requested.

A few days before the wedding, there were a few changes.  But amazingly you were a great sport and didn't have a single problem accommodating them.  First, we had our wedding and reception in the same place, so you had to wait to set up your equipment after the ceremony was done.  Second, you set up your sound equipment in the dining room to keep our guests entertained while we were taking pictures and then eating dinner.  Last, you had to go and tear your stuff down after dinner and reset everything back up where the dance was being held.  Not many DJs would do that, and if they did, they'd charge more money - which you did not.

The music was phenomenal.  You played what we chose on the wedding planner.  I liked the fact that you did all the formal dances at the beginning of the reception, and the rest of the night was free dancing.  Also, I enjoyed how you got the children to dance along with their parents.  And when I was dancing to the “Macarena,” I looked over my shoulder and there you were doing the moves.  That helps a lot for the people who don't know the dances.  We will recommend you to anyone that we know who's getting married.

My biggest fear for that day was not the quality of the service you were providing since I knew firsthand you went above and beyond any other DJ service I have seen, but it was that the dance floor would remain empty for the reception and people would be gone early in the evening.  Of course, to our delight, the dance floor was always in use, and people were lined up for the bouquet toss and the garter toss.

"We like to say that God led us to Mike Miller as our wedding DJ.  We did a search on the Internet for 'DJ' in the area, and up came Mike Miller.  Before this search, we found lots of other very tacky DJ companies and were not happy with them because we were determined to have a classy wedding with good taste along with a lot of fun.  By reading his references, we wrote Mike and hired him. We were also sold when we found out his price because other tacky DJ companies charge a huge amount of money. 

 

Mike is also very organized by having us fill out a very detailed form.  Since we had problems with deciding on some of the details, he gladly spoke with us over the phone to help us make decisions.  He also was very good about last-minute changes the day of the wedding. 

By the way, we were several miles away from Mike, so we didn't actually meet him until our wedding day.  In speaking with Mike on the phone, we loved his personality.  He respected our wishes not to play acid rock or hip-hop music, and he followed through by having a guest come to ask us about a song they wanted to have played.  Mike was so energetic, but not outrageously obnoxious. 

Mike played all the music we loved during the dinner and the dance, and he even taught the guests how to dance to 'The Macarena.'  We think we actually had a record of the longest human train too.  Mike is a one -man show who can do it all.  He has a great speaking voice and a great personality that helped draw out the guests to dance.  We never had an empty dance floor.  Thanks, Mike, for doing such a great job!"

Hope things are going well with you.  Wanted to thank you again for all your help with the wedding.  From the beginning, you were very prompt in returning our calls and professional in helping us.  Your references all had great things to say about your service.  Since we had found out about you on the Internet, I did as much research as I could, but knew that we wouldn't know your true skills until our wedding night.  The wedding planner you e-mailed was very helpful in getting an idea of the timeline for the night and helped us pick the songs that were important to us. I also appreciated your willingness to buy the CDs that we didn't have with our special songs.  In the thousands of details a bride has to keep track of, every effort from the professionals she's working with helps.  You also had some very good advice about which songs may not be the best dance songs from your experience.  Knowing that entertaining people was your profession, we felt confident that you would keep the people moving and the party going.  The night of the wedding was the first time we saw you as a DJ.  You introduced us as husband and wife, said all the names of the bridal party correctly (all 17 names as we had practiced), and the party was rolling.

 

If there are any bride-to-bes reading this, here is my advice.  Know that you can do everything you can and plan months ahead of time, and there will still be some things that go wrong.  On our wedding night, Mike Miller was the first to inform me of what we had forgotten.  My younger sister had made a picture DVD slideshow of our baby pictures with music.  Mike and I had discussed (when we did the wedding planner) when we would show this and how the sound would be projected.  After we had entered the reception and sat down, Mike came over to the head table and asked, "Where are the DVD and the projector set up?"  My heart dropped.  Through all this planning, I had completely forgotten one of the most important things we had scheduled.  And on top of this, we had to find another way to entertain people for an extra 24 minutes before dinner!  Someone drove back to the church to get the DVD, another friend drove to Target to buy a cable to hook the projector to the sound system, and Mike, without missing a beat of music, set up the projector, hooked it to his sound system, and after dinner, we were able to show the DVD that my sister had worked so hard on.

Mike went above and beyond what we had hired him for. The music he played was awesome and everyone had a great time.  Mike is also an excellent dancer, with a lot of energy.  He was doing the “Macarena” behind his DJ table, and the kids were following his lead.
